What is FishBlade: SE?

Welcome, weary travellers, to the world of FishBlade. Open your mind, and prepare to weave a tale exploring the fundamental truths of reality through pescamancy. 

Players draw lots, spin coins and simulate dissecting a fish together as they move through a series of challenges, all working towards a single Aim and fighting to avoid their shared Dread. 

Fishblade SE (Sumner Edition) is a collaborative narrative roleplaying system inspired by a tweet from @thomas_violence. It’s designed to help you build atmospheric, macabre stories through group roleplaying, with a focus on character traits and balancing negative and positive outcomes. 

To play, you’ll need an adventure written in FishBlade, a copy of the FishBoard, a group of at least three like-minded players, some pens and scrap paper, a coin (optional) and a knife. We’d recommend a plastic knife for reasons that will become obvious, but your life’s journey is your own and I’m not going to try and control you.
